The game could be good but there no feedback if we hit something or not so it seems like nothing's happening.

You can't directly attack anything. You need to deflect the missile from the big ship into it or other ships to do damage, but the enemy ships with also try to deflect the missiles.
Destroying smaller ships gets you scrap that you can use to get turrets that will automatically destroy the enemy ships (which is needed the more you damage the bigger ship)
