I am 40 mins in and I love this TRPG. The one thing I dislike...is the green highlight box. Evil. PURE EVIL!
One thing I love is how you described the MC as smug and then actually made the character strong and worthy to be smug. I also love how you wrote in that MC has interacted with the Boar Thugs before, and that the current predicament is unusual; it gives life to the game and it's world.
PC. It's the box with the -1 lv bain. If I may ask, about the ear clips...what are they? My head is running wild with theories about the end game. Are they important to the story or just something fun for the Boar Thugs to play on MC? Is the true bad guy a fashion designer that will trick a small town into succumbing into their rule? Did the boars not kill a person in the office, but someone worse!? I AM SO EXCITED!!!
So the boss...You could have made him only use chainsaw attcks, yet you gave him a kick and flavor text. I don't know if it was your intention, but that made me respect the boar thugs for standing with their principles. I connected it back to how MC noted they don't tend to kill. It made me think that the boss uses the chainsaw as a scare tactic more than a weapon. I oddly respect that, but, what that your intention, or is it just me putting things in that were not intended?
Side note: I heard there were more things to do than just beat everyone up. Is there anywhere I should start?
Unfortunately you'd be reading too much into that, or rather reading the wrong things. The boars are cruel, and definitely not above killing, they just avoid it for strategic reasons. I see the boars as something like classic rpg orcs if they had a couple more brain cells to rub together. Not much, just a couple. They love violence and chaos, but in a setting like Midnight City, even with the sleaze and semi-lawlessness, they understand too much death will cause backlash. Kind of like how gangs try to avoid gang wars because it gets them too much attention from cops and other gangs. To further clarify, Mezz's remarks on the bloodstains in the beginning are mostly about them being civilian (or kind of) deaths. That's what's unusual. They have no problem killing within their own "world," though even there they do hold back a bit for one reason: once you kill someone, you can't inflict violence anymore. It ruins the fun.
All that said, I do see the boars as the typical villains Mezz is used to, and I imagine them in some kind of comic-book arrangement where they keep hinting at killing him but never do because there's some kind of weird respect there. This situation on the island however represents an escalation of the stats quo, so there's a good chance Diezel absolutely would have chopped him up.
All of THAT said, the reason the kick and circle is there is mechanical. The fight would feel incredibly dull if it was just one move used over and over. The other moves hopefully add a little variety and tension.
As for other content: have you lost? Have you lost multiple times? Have you lost to the guard on the stairs? Have you lost to Diezel? Generally event CG in a game like this is about iterating through all the possible losses. Though there is also "problem solving" with sex, and there's at least one scene for that in the game as well.
