This is going to sound harsh, but it comes from a place of love for the original game. A list of things that absolutely damaged the experience of this fan game for me:

The slow mo just does not work and kills the framerate.

The keys are not mapped intuitively for fans of classic F.E.A.R.. Why replace the flashlight with nightvision and change it to F instead of X? Why is melee not right mouse button? Why can I only toggle aim? Etc.

"Horror" consists of scattered F.E.A.R. 2 Alma jpegs or png files that take too long to disappear at times due to poor scripting. There is nothing to F.E.A.R. but F.E.A.R. itself here.

Shooting is stiff and  enemies have aim that glues onto you as soon as you're spotted.

Absolutely no atmosphere to speak of aside for 2 looping droning noises. You could've used the ripped sound files of the game very easily as they are royalty free in practice. And didn't.

The maps are too big and repetitious. This is criticism the original often gets by people that don't understand game design. The original's worked because it wasn't shooting for the stars. It tried to create a very grounded setting regardless of how "boring" it can be perceived as.

My suggestion to readers is to stick to the official games and the mods  found over at moddb.

I personally recommend F.E.A.R. Resurrection https://www.moddb.com/mods/fear-resurrection

And the upcoming Trepang2 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1164940/Trepang2/

(Maybe it's time to switch engines. The 2D usage makes me believe the DOOM engine would have been a better starting place. Hopefully future projects turn out better.)
