It's nice. But I keep getting killed. Hints on the first ending?

There's two main stats to manage: Charlene-ness and Donny-ness.

You need to manage your Donny-ness well to not die. If you have enough at the end, he'll let you take the gun from him.

Is the first ending on the list the all HAPPY ending?

The endings are arranged from best to worst, yes
