Description
Orchestral then switches to rock/metal then back to orchestra, Fantasy themed.

Made in protools. I mixed analogue and digital to create that realistic yet fantasy theme. I recorded voices, SFX, guitars and pianos so I have a bit more control over how they sounds. The rest is MIDI, using Kontakt Factory library.

I use the old reliable Scarlet 2i2 to record single (distorted guitar) or dual tracks (x-y electro acoustic guitar). Midi tracks are not written by hand. I play them on a Yamaha p125 to simulate a bit of realism, though it is far from what I really envisioned.

TIMELINE:
00:00-00:42 - Prologue: Short introduction to the story. I pictured a lone warrior looking for something valuable he lost. Supposedly he is far away from home and cannot go back (another world/different dimension)

00:42-2:00 - Jakkrs valley (desolate winter paradise): Setting up the scene with the second track. Here I present the motive of the whole song. Imagine a frozen valley. Giant, windy, EPIC (makes you feel small)...Voicing is always going downwards to simulate the journey the hero goes through.

2:00-3:40 - Artifacts power (there will be a loop of this soon): The motive changes to a minor scale (theoretically Locrian scale, not minor). The discovery of an artifact that gives immense power (the object he looked for in question, that holds the soul of someone dear to him). I pictured a fierce battle forcing the character to give his all. I find it "anime" like.

3:40-4:27 - Closure: Decided to go for a typical happy ending, going back to the motive in the second track. After the battle ends, the hero is reunited with the one he was looking for.

Theme:

Two Worlds
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
The OST transitions quickly between darker and brighter themes. Symbolizing two different emotions, but also the contrast between the "heros" actual origin and the place he has gone to to look for his "objective". The genre of music is also different in both parts (Orchestral VS Rock/Metal). The laith motive changes to a minor scale accentuating that contrast.

Amazing composition and live recordings! Though for the 3rd track I seem to mostly hear Phrygian Dominant except for two parts towards the middle and the end which sound like Locrian. But Locrian is a hard tonality to establish. The vocals were very well executed!

There's nothing else to say except, "very creative, amazingly done!. You pretty much covered a LOT of genres here!

Amazing work! Love pretty much everything about this. Adding the narration was also a very neat touch. Could totally see this as a AAA-game soundtrack.

EDIT: Just realized you also recorded a lot of the stuff yourself, which both explains why it sounds so great and is also super impressive, Absolutely stunning work!

This was cool! I like the dichotomy between the two sounds. Thank you for your work!

Well, considering we both had the "orchestra vs metal" idea, I'm left feeling kinda inadequate! Hopefully mine are distinct enough from your track in that yours are atmospheric, and mine are melody-driven. But even then...I have to hand it to you...really job!

Very immersive and emotional soundscape. Smooth combination between orchestral and rock. Both are very authentic. Great work!
