Welcome to ParserComp, the annual competition for parser-based text games!

If you're reading this then hopefully you're thinking of entering this year's competition, and/or planning to judge and vote on the games. It's great to have you on board - have a look at the main page for dates and deadlines, rules and FAQs and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

We look forward to playing your games!

Thank you for your work, enthusiasm, fidelity and for supporting Adam. This is an invaluable job.

Who is ParserComp aimed at and what do you expect from the quality of the games provided?

Jam Host

It's aimed at anyone who want to make a parser game and there are no particular expectations about quality (or content, or length) so long as the rules are observed. The better the quality of the game, the higher it is likely to be rated.

Great! So I can participate. I just need to find someone to help me with English.
The rules of the game are a bit intimidating, it feels like we’re going to get scolded! I hope this won’t scare away beginners.

Of course! Any parser game is very welcome, on any subject, from any author with any level of expertise - within the bounds of a few simple and sensible rules. The more diversity the better.

So if anyone is hesitating about entering the competition - please do go ahead and enter! And feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Aures,

I regret that I didn't see this sooner. Please don't fret over the rules. No one will ever get scolded. ;)

Any game you enter will be welcomed. This is a parser competition but don't fret about being out of bounds. We welcome all participants.
