Dang, this is the first time this has happened, at least the first report of it. Will making a new save, saving it to the 4th slot do anything?

I have a slight correction/clarification: file 1 and 3 are edited version of the original file1. file2 was the new file that I was trying to edit where the fake lace was spawned that prevents progress if I edit the file. I can save a new game to any slot, and I just saved a new game to slot 4 which created file4.
