Dee returned the next week, and so did Virgil. Again, he purchased a small packet of honeysuckle. Again, he overpaid.

Soon the days began to grow longer, and the rainy season ended. And still, Dee travelled to the market weekly, stopping by the forager’s stand at the end of each visit.

This week, Virgil spotted Dee first. “My lord!” he called in a clear, musical voice that thrummed through Dee’s bones. He swallowed back his growl. He looked up, and with effort, kept his teeth behind his lips. The man lowered his eyes as soon as Dee approached, and beckoned him closer.

Dee let the wind catch the edge of his cloak, billowing out and away from his ankles as he approached Virgil’s booth. He spared a quick glance to the Hunter who’d been trailing him since he’d arrived at the market that afternoon, ensuring he hadn’t lost him in the crowd. This part of the market was always quieter and he thought the Hunter should be able to relax a bit now. Dee smiled to himself.

They tasted sweeter when they were calm.

"Hello again Virgil, I see your doing well.."

He smiled down at Virgil, he was glad that he was there, but.. oh just how hungry he was.. he hasn't had anything for a good while, and he was just waiting.. for that hunter.

He smiled up at him, eyes sparkling

"Mhm! I-I'm afraid I don't have any Honeysuckle today...but I have fresh chestnuts and-these-"

He pulled out a small bundle of wild roses, their color a vibrant crimson.

". . .  Hehe, well what a lovely color they are!"

He gently took a rose from him, and then slid in between his hair, smiling as he pulled his hand away

".. It looks lovely on you as well.."

"Hf-"

He blushed and looked away, flustered

".. Aww, did I do something wrong, I'm sorryyy..~"

He jokingly teased, crouching back down to his level as he waited for his look once more, he loved everything about his eyes. :)

"I-I um-..."

He cleared his throat, glancing back at him through lowered lashes, thick and dark.

"I-I have some information for you as well-a-about one of the other merchants-a-apparently the cloth trader has too much silk on her hands and needs to sell it off....s-she might be willing to bargain..."

".. I see.. well, how much do you need?.. I believe I can gather it for you, unless.. you have more to tell.."

"Oh! Oh, no n-not for me-I-I just thought you might like to know-"

He laughed a bit

"I don't even know what I'd use silk for..."

".. Oh, hehe! well alright alright, and I wouldn't say that.. I'm sure you kinda find plenty of things to use it for.."
