Go look in the "Credits" tab. You can find yhvr's game cleansed which inspired my last two jam games.

The first one, cassiopeia/resource starve, kept most of the mechanics but replaced the original exploration mechanic with buildings and added a bunch of other interesting stuff. It's not great though since it's kind of laggy and doesn't deviate too much from the original gameplay and was kind of meant as an exercise to collaborate with yhvr to make Cleansed 2 (which never happened)

This is the second attempt which was basically the opposite of cassiopeia, keeping nothing except the 2D map and the "@" player icon. I guess if you stretch it you can say that the time walls could be roughly matched to clearing darknesses in the original game, but other than that most of this game's mechanics were ripped off of cassiopeia (notably the building mechanics)
