Android Player here and I've run into a problem
I can't install the game (v0.50) for some reason (I haven't deleted the previous version of the app (0.42) as it said that deleting it will delete my saved progress). Is that why I can't install the game?
I really want to know what happens next. It'd mean a lot if I get some help.
Maybe you are installing from a different port than a previous install. It usually happens when the update is not downloaded from the same port. For example, the first one may be named as "com.freepass" and the other named "com.freepass.eng" inside the Android/data folder. I assume you are now trying to install android ported by wills, Walkthrough mod. In that case, you will have to copy save files from android/data/com.freepass.eng to somewhere else. After installing the different port. You can again copy/paste your copied save files into new port. For example, Android/data/com.freepass.wills

Why can't you install the update?
There are numerous reasons for this but mostly it is because of Ren'Py, the game engine we used to create VN games.
For example, I download a game from androidmo.me and now I install the update from itch.io
Both use the MEGA for data transferring. But in android/data folder each uses a different folder name. That is mostly why the problem is happening.
But sometimes it just happens.

So, I am still not able to play this game. I downloaded v0.50 [Patched] [MEGA Link]. It is saved in Android/data as com.freepass.eng as you said. I opened the folder and moved the saved folder that was within it somewhere else and tried to install the gameagain but I still get the same error. Then I also tried moving the entire folder (com.freepass.eng) somewhere else and to see if it worked but got the same error again. I deleted the old apk (still have the app installed) but that didn't help either. If this is a known issue and needs to be updated I can wait for the next version. Should I wait?

How to fix it?
Method 1
If you do not mind losing your saved files and restarting the game, you can just uninstall the old app. And install the new update.
Method 2
But if you do not want to lose the saved files, you can make a copy of your saved files inside android/data/com.freepass.eng
You have to copy it somewhere else before uninstalling the old app. Otherwise, you will lose saved files during uninstallation of the previous version.
After you have installed the new version, you can copy/move or replace your copied save file back into android/data/com.freepass.eng
