Hello Amiralo! I've been your fan since I was a teenager. I'm pretty old now, but I've played all your previous games.  The game is pretty good, as expected. I've gotten 2 of the endings so far, and eventually I'll try to get the rest. I'm looking forward to seeing what visual novels you have in store for us in the future!

The story and the art is beautiful that i am crying....like in all seriousness i am crying

This game looks really interesting, but my mac hasn't been able to extract(i think that's the correct term) the file. Do you have any possible tips to help?

As of now, I haven't figured out a way to successful export for mac. Some players have played it with a windows emulator, but if that doesn't work for you, there's a no commentary let's play on YouTube.

Again,I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.

(+2)

I think I've reached all the endings, but I'm a little confused about what happened with Ivy and her boyfriend? Did I miss something? Why was she in that recovery area?

(+3)

Joseph and Ivy were the axed route. I want to save the idea for another future story, so no spoilers

Is there a walkthrough?

It's included in the game. walkthrough.txt

(+4)

This was so well written, but also well staged/directed! The atmosphere, how to bring the characters emotions across through art, music and effects from the game itself was really well done. Absolutely looking forward to more games!

(1 edit) (+1)(-1)

the art, the music, the glitch effects, perfect

(1 edit) (+3)

the writing is impeccable (absolutely a masterpiece), the characters were VERY, VERY well-written, the art is amazing, the story, *chef's kiss*, everything about this game is amazing!!! the writing kept me engaged every second! i literally got attached to them, and i was on a (very high, dangerous, and well-built) roller coaster of emotions. LOVED THE ENDINGS. what a ride! freaking love this game.

Edit: i also wanted to say that my heart aches for Camille. All she ever wanted was someone to pay attention to her IN THE NORMAL WAY. It's just so sad, and i was rooting for her to escape everytime there was a chance. I actually liked Osgoode's character as well, and while i really didn't fall in love with him in most of the endings (just like Camille, lol), ending 9 really just made me want to root for them. Osgoode seemed MUCH, MUCH healthier, and Camille seemed like she needed someone else. :') this story truly is a beautiful tragedy.

Omg I loved Osgoode's character, I think ending 7 was what it cinched it for me and gosh, he's such a hottie in ending 9. Wish I was a bit more sensible like Camille but sucker for good looks T-T

(+3)

What an amazing game!!! Was on the edge of my seat the whole time excited for what happens next. Osgoode was really likeable for me honestly and super cute. Thanks for making such a fantastic game!

(+3)

Oh my God it's you!!! You're the one who got me completely addicted to otomes and dating sims! While playing ITYH I felt there was something very familiar about the style and suddenly I had a flashback from YEARS AGO of a game where the character asked the MC to give him his heart and you can make her agree...and let me tell you that I was in shock for days after that scene! That game was yours wasn't it?
At the time I was just discovering the genre and all I had played were a couple of sweet and nice dating sims. And I did liked them. I stumbled upon yours by accident and after playing it (and recovering because I had no idea what I was getting into and I felt both amazed and betrayed XD) I craved for more of that same feeling.
I have never stopped playing dating sims and otomes since then, horror ones or not. But you were the very first one that made me think "Wow, these games can be true art!"
I am so happy to finally have the opportunity to thank you. I didn't know at the time but looking back I understand: thanks to you I realized there was more to dating sims than cutesy generic love stories and that the genre was worthy to explore, that there were true writers and true artists in that field. Thank you SO MUCH for your games and for the doors they unlocked.

(+5)(-1)

"If you put me in chains again one of us will have to die"

"And if you run away again I will eat your legs,"

Best love story, 11/10, better than the love story actually named love story!

But seriously Am, I need to stop playing your games, been playing since the flash days and not ONCE have I been allowed to leave without my heart in pieces

This game is great)

OMG U MADE HIM LOOK SO PRETTY! Thanks again ahhahahah

lol, glad you like it  :D

I LOVE IT !! THIS GAME IS SO GOOD, TOO GOOD !! 😵‍💫❤️❤️

Is there a walk through to get all the endings???

Yes! There should be a walkthrough included in the game. It's called walkthrough.txt

Thank you so much! I love the artstyle btw! Amazing story too.

(+1)

Yeah so I don't really have anything to say other than this was an amazing game-

(+2)

I LOVE ENDING 9! Totally worth it. Surprinsingly, the hardest for me was ending 2, cause i thought all i had to do was observe once

(+1)

waitt what was ending 2?? I didnt get that and yess ending 9 is my fav tooo

(+1)

it s named stalling, when in the car with Osborne, u have to keep pressing the option to look around until u have no other choice

Oh. My. God. I was speechless the whole game. worth a replay and love, love, LOVE this so much! I hope I can make a game as good as this one day!

(+4)

AMAZING. INCREDIBLE. SPECTACULAR. SHOW-STOPPING. NEVER THE SAME-

(+2)

amiralo i've been your fan for years, literally played all of your games <3 this one was amazing, i was genuinely so shocked by the plot twist, and i fell in love with the characters... i think camille is my favorite protag of yours so far!

a quick q - you said that you write, as in not just for games, but like stories and stuff? where can we read ;-;

love you and wish you all the best!

(+2)

Hi! Thank you for your kind words and for remembering me after all these years ahahhaha. Glad you liked Camille.

I'm actually currently in the brainstorming phase for another otome haha. A demo should be out in March

Forgive me for giving you notifications, I'm just checking the page because I love reading other people's thoughts on one of my fave visual novels but OMGGGGGG ANOTHER OTOME IM DED EXCITED

(+2)

FINALLY! I managed to play it (I had to get a software to play it on my Mac, haha).

So worth it. I'm so in love with the characters (especially Osgoode) and I really liked Camille. The endings really made me feel so many things and I loved Ending 9.

I've always loved your games!! Hopefully I'll see more of you.

Hi! What emulator did you use for your mac? I do have a (very, very old) Windows pc but I'd rather enjoy the game on my new macbook ;-; It'd be great if you could let me know the software!

Hi! I used CrossOver :) You can look for how to use it on Youtube.

(+3)

What a great game! I sincerely loved it. Very well written and the interactions between Camille and Osgoode felt really realistic. I have two question, though. 1- Can you please tell me the names of the games you've made in the past? I have the feeling i already played some of your games. And 2-

 SPOILER

How Joseph caused the apocalypse in ending 9 ???? It will be explaned sometime?

Anyway, THANK YOU  for the amazing game!!

(+2)

Hi! Thank you for your kind words. My other games include Reverie, an odd sim date and Saccharine a misleading sim date.

Joseph's route was axed, but I might recycle it in the future, so no spoilers for now ahhahaha.

(+1)

I enjoyed this game so much! While I was playing, I thought the art style seemed familiar, as well as the haunting atmosphere and the exploration of the relationship dynamics, until I was scrolling through the comments and found that you were the same person who created Sacharrine??? One of my favourite otomes since I first played it many years ago now??

Goodness! You always had such an enthralling way of telling beautifully dark stories through the archetypes of a dating simulator, and this definitely did not disappoint! I loved exploring the story through the eyes of Camille, as well as where Osgoode fit into her life! (I'd say more, but spoilers, lol.)

I'm so happy I found I Take Your Hand, and re-founded you as well! For years, you've always been one of my favourite developers, and this game was so exciting to play!

(+3)

You know, I've been playing indie OELVNs since the dawn of time and I'd kind of grown tired of seeing the same things over and over again. You reignited my passion for this genre, and I am so happy I actually gave this game a chance. The progression of the story was so wild and at the same time kind of realistic. I could honestly relate to Camille and her thought process quite well. I also absolutely loved the final final ending and if you ever make something else set in this world I will be the first to play it. Thank you for such a great game!

P.S. I had to laugh out loud when Osgoode started on those questions to make strangers fall in love because I've answered those with someone before and recognised them immediately

I love this game , i'm having trouble finding the walkthrough because I been only able to get one ending of the game :(

there's a text file called walkthrough in the game haha. If you need more help with a specific ending, let me know

(+1)

oh wow , i feel so silly :( lmao regardless this game had me up all hours of the night , i'm heavily in love with this game , it isn't a typical fantasy romance, it's  like a dark fairytale , it reminds me of something gulliermo del toro would make into a movie <3 i hope you make more in the future!

Entirely taken by this VN from the moment shit hits the fan, so to speak. Was a lovely, gripping and bittersweet read. Horror otome feels very rare, so I'm genuinely thankful to have found this by chance. I can't wait to recommend it to friends with similar tastes.

I was so, so happy when I found out that one of my favorite creators from when I was younger was still making content! Your games just hit in a way nothing else manages to. I loved Saccharine, Where Adabanas Grow, and Reverie so much that during the Flash purge, I downloaded them and an old build of Flash to make sure that I could still play them. Those three files are seriously some of my most prized possessions. My only regret is that I wasn't able to grab your series about the time traveler... I'd really love to play it someday, especially since it links to Where Adabanas Grow.

Ah... Where to even start with this one. ITYH has seriously given Saccharine a run for its money in terms of my favorite Amiralo game. It's objectively your best yet, and something I would've happily paid money for. It is genuinely crazy how much your art and writing has improved over the years, and I really do think you should consider releasing some commercial games or creating a Patreon if you haven't! You fill a niche that no one else can, or at least not nearly as well as you.

I don't want to force you to read a wall of text, but I do want to list some of the things I loved about ITYH. Osgoode is probably your best love interest yet, even if Joker and the guardsman from Saccharine are still my personal favorites. He has so, so much depth, and I was shocked at how much I felt for him. I really understood what Camille saw in him. Speaking of Camille, she's just another example of your prowess in creating unique heroines that you can root for despite their issues. That's something you never see in otome games, unfortunately. The protagonists are always so pure and kind, but Camille is a person with flaws and desires and I love her for it. I really do mean it when I say that you have several industry veterans beat in several different regards.

The narrative is wonderfully cohesive, too. Every detail ties back into another, and I liked how Ivy's situation ended up paralleling Camille's, or at least that's what I gathered from the story. I just don't know how to put it all into words, but you have truly outdone yourself. The idea of hating this person, but still loving them, and you know you really shouldn't, but you just can't help it, and then you're finally free from them, but you can't stop thinking about how you'll never find someone like them; you'll never experience what you had with them again, even if what you had was horrible and rotten. It's just such a beautiful piece on obsession and desire and love and falling in love with the "right" (heavy emphasis on the quotations, but I did enjoy Ending 9) person at the wrong time. I will definitely be recommending this to everyone I know.

I think I've said enough, so sorry for all the word vomit! I'll be following your future projects with great interest, and I sincerely hope that you'll continue to write and create art. Whether it's a visual novel, book, painting, or literally anything else, I'll always be happy to support your work, because I know that it will always be something truly unique and from the heart.

Hi:) I got all the endings expect for the third one and i tried to follow the guide but i didn't understand where/when i was not supposed to pick up the food?

for the third ending, don't pick up the food and don't say anything to him

I tried to do that, i clicked on the sleep, take shower etc but like i was just stuck on a cyckle until i decided to eat it

Oh not that part.

When Osgoode first shows up with food, choose not to say anything.

When Osgoode wakes u up in the middle of the night and demands that you pick up the food, choose not to pick it up.

OHHH omg my bad! Gomma play now :)

i have no words but i need you to know how enraptured i was in this story. oh w o w. i need to sit down for a while. thank you so much for this game oh my gosh

I can't seem to make it work on Mac :(

I'll try to upload a new build today, but since I don't have a Mac, I can't guarantee it would work.

However, there is a full playthrough of this game here

(+2)

im not too great with words here but i just wanted to express how absolutely amazing this was to play...
i was so in love with both camille and osgoode, she reminds me of someone very dear to me and it made the entire game all the more impactful for me, ESPECIALLY when osgoode is the kind of weirdo i fall head over for in stories
the art... gosh the art. osgoode's wendigo iness was so freaking pretty, i cant even begin to describe it. AND THE STYLE FELT PERFECT FOR THE STORY.
this was just the perfect game. i actually cant put it any other way so im giving up while im ahead and simply saying thank you so so much for making this.

(+1)

Thanks haha. I'm glad you found Camille real and likable enough (even though she's a mess).

(4 edits) (+2)

You must be tired of reading this but.....YEAH, I was your another Otome flash game's fan(._. ), and after I saw this 'your another game' in Itch.io, I click the following button asap as I saw the name Amiralo on it.

Anyway, about this game... made me realize you never fail to achieve the best of Horror otome game Creator. Through your works from Saccharine and Reverie, you really improve your writing and give more dimension to your characters. I mean both main characters' backstory is really convinced the reader of how they shaped their personality and how they feel familiar with real people.

Spoiler's part

I do share the same conflict thought with Camille, like how we really should not love Serial killer but at the same time, we have the soft spot for Osgoode because he has no choice but to kill people for the sake of survival even though he doesn't want to, and still he is the abuser who imprisoned Camille. It's really hard to hate him and to love him(but I really love him with shame...), and even the development of their relationship is interesting, no matter how toxic it is. You're seriously doing a great job at all of this (ToT)

More things, this personality of the Female lead is really fresh. She has flaws and a selfish side as an ordinary human being, the best girl who deserves anything she wants because she really gives all of her guts to get it. There are many things I want to talk about ITYH, but my lack of ability to use words pains me (;w;) so all I want to say is I love every character of yours, how their personality is shaped by their backstory, and how the concept of falling in love in the wrong place wrong time.

For the final, I have some questions.

Did Ivy survive in Ending 9? and how did she manage..., you know? to sort things out with Joseph after Apocalypse? I'm really interested in their relationship if it is just a small mention I'm still glad to know their update.

and yeah, final for the FINAL, Ending 9 really makes me hang on the cliff. I need to know what's gonna happen right now as soon as I slept and open my eyes in the next morning!!! btw, adult Osgoode's smile is worth for Apocalypse.

SPOILER

1. Joseph was the one who caused the apocalypse in ending 9 haha. Ivy....is alive in a sense.

Aww, thank you for answering my question! Actually, I have to say sorry about how I stated my question ambiguously. I knew that Joseph is the cause of the Apocalypse, but what I wanna ask is how they keep relationship after Apocalypse like are they still together or something?

Btw, if it means the spoiler of your next project, please nevermind to ignore the question (x_x; )

(+1)

Dear Amiralo, I have been following your games for several years, and I love each one of them, so when I found out that you released a new one I was very excited. As always, you keep surpassing yourself. This game became my favorite.

Thanks haha. It's always a relief to know that I am improving.

(+2)

I should leave a review here too!

Short, sweet, dark, and twisted, with the kind of flawed, complex characters that should by all rights be unlikeable but ended up really compelling. Camille is best girl, a heroine who's strong without being perfect or physically strong, whose incredible flaws are precisely what enable her to survive the unsurvivable, and to keep clinging to what agency she has in a situation that seems hopeless. And I'm not usually one for the "boyfriend keeps you in basement" thing, but Osgoode was genuinely great--he's creepy and fucked up but my kind of creepy and fucked up, and the turns their dynamic took were really interesting. I really enjoyed this!

(-13)

just started and the treatment of homelessness is godawful... how do you manage to alienate players within seconds of booting up the game?? it'd be impressive if it wasn't awful and inhumane

(3 edits) (+6)

I assure you it only gets progressively worse from here. Better you stop here before more horrible things happen.

(+3)

Aaaaah! I remember finding your first game, Saccharine, on Newgrounds many years ago-- and absolutely loving it. Every so often, that game would pop back up in my brain and I'd have to go replay it. The way you've precariously balanced love and obsession and death within your games has always been so fascinating to me, and it's so so amazing to see how far you've come with ITYH!

SPOILERS

.

.

.

The writing, the plot twists, the characterization of Camille and Osgoode are all really wonderfully done (as many have said already!). But one thing I especially enjoyed was your use of player choices. Constantly cycling through exercise, bathing, sharpening, and sleeping without any way to tell how much time has passed was quite immersive and maddening (in the BEST way). Same with how time was marked by the number of times he's stopped playing the piano-- I didn't realize how grounding that music was until it was gone, and I truly felt the psychological toll of Osgoode's absence on Camille. Overall, I think you toyed with the otome format in wonderful and immersive ways.

Also uhhh I cannot get over ending 9?? I'm so sad that we didn't get to see more of that! It was such a sweet way of wrapping them up-- this idea that it was just the wrong place, wrong time, and maybe they have a better shot at a healthy relationship now that they're older, possibly more independent, and ~surviving in a post apocalyptic world~. And a long-haired Osgoode... yes please!

Thank you for another wonderful story, Amiralo! And Happy New Years!

(+2)

Awww thank you for your continuous support!

Happy New Years to you too! There will be a short story continuing from ending 9 in the future, so look forward to it haha.

(+1)

Hi Amiralo! Congratulations on your newest work! I have been your fan since I discovered your older works, and words can’t describe how much I love your newest game right now!
First off, I love Camille’s character. I think you’ve improved immensely since Saccharine.

SPOILERS:

Even though a lot of your heroines have tragic lives, Camille is the most realistic heroine you have ever written in my opinion. Her emotions and thoughts are very realistic during her imprisonment days, which makes me both root for and feel pity for her.

The horror aspect is REALLY well done. It also combines with the music very harmoniously, making the intense and dark scene thrilling as hell. I had a hard time sleeping at night after playing lmao.

I don’t have a lot to say about Osgoode but his relationship with Camille is very interesting even though  it’s not healthy at all (except Ending 9)

The art is beautiful but rather hard to look at.

Finally can you tell me where is the tutorial? I am very curious about all the endings. Gotta see them all!

There should be a walkthrough txt included with the game! It has all the details about how to get all the endings.

(1 edit) (+1)

Wow. Words cannot describe how amazing this Visual Novel is. I typically dislike Visual Novels because the  stories lack any interesting aspect, but this one is convincing me otherwise. I loved that  Camille (MC) is a more feminine, hopeless romantic, beauty-focused girl.  Her character is very new to me, and I loved playing as her. Obviously, this VN shows a very toxic "relationship" excluding the whole supernatural aspect, but it kept wanting me to look for some good ending somewhat. I also wanted to comment on the amazing art. I love the way that Osgoode's character was drawn, this style is just so elegant. IMO, I think we should have more writers/artists like the people who developed this VN in the gaming/literature community. As of writing this comment I haven't checked out the developers' other work, but I certainly will if I can find any.

I wanted to also ask if it was possible to have an Endings screen? where you can look thru all the endings you've completed and the endings you haven't reached. I would love to finish this VN all the way through.

Again TYSM for this amazing VN, it's the only thing keeping me sane while quarantining in my own bed lmao.

(+1)

Unfortunately, I don't have time to implement an ending collection system, but the game does come with a walkthrough on how to get all the endings haha.

(2 edits) (+1)(-1)

If you don't know, I was the first person to comment on this page. You can scroll down XD Just a fun fact. And so, my review is:

This is so good T_T This is so good! I have to say that twice. I played all your flash games prior to this, but after all of that I still haven't learned what to expect from your stories. I mean, after Saccharine or Adabana??? C'mon. I should have expected some twisted, angsty, distressing, horrifying, bittersweet tragedy! I didn't really have much expectation, I thought it will be the captor/captive disastrous romance/Stockholm/Lima syndrome. While yeah, it kinda is, your writing makes it all very different and much more entertaining. I always admire your concepts and ideas! In this story, I find that Camille's narration and dialogues are the stars in this VN. I really enjoy... hmmm... how effed up Osgoode is. I have a pretty high tolerance, but if you can make me facepalm several times, then that means you are on the right track. Yes.

I really enjoy it. I binged this for three hours and I never break immersion. It is my joy to pretend to be a voice actor and voice act all of the dialogues. I give other characters an ordinary American accent. I don't know what accent Osgoode is supposed to have so I just give Osgoode a very terrible slight Russian accent to the best I can pffft Just a random fact to give you ideas of how I enjoy the VN.

Your art is maybe not the crystal clear bubblegum pop I always see, but I always love it. It gives it so MUCH vibe. It makes it very easy to be immersed in it.

My criticism is very minor, maybe just the typos and some unnamed dialogue? (I'm sorry but I don't know where.) And maybe when we go to the right hallway, you can make it slide to the right XD

I have some questions, but it is going to spoiler territory so...

.

.

.

[SPOILER START]

Questions:

1. Is Charles's secretary Emily Johnson related to Agent Johnson?

2. Why is Ivy saved in Ed 8, but not in Ed 9? How does Camille being kidnapped make it different?

3. Joseph, the Eldritch being who brings the end of the world is too big not to be elaborated!

4. I read that you will keep writing even if maybe not VNs, will we be able to read your future writing? I mean... I love your stories. I love it T_T

5. Ed 9 is my favorite for the obvious reason. Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but I would love to read an adventure between this Camille and this Osgoode.

6. Is twisted, effed up story always your favorite to write? XD

[SPOILER END]

.

.

.

I have some interest in writing and this just makes me think that... maybe... writing a story in this genre is a very great idea after all...

Final verdict: This is so good and I want more :) Thank you for the hard work. You've done such a good job and I'm so happy I can enjoy your writing again.

P.S.

What does ITYH mean? "I Think You're Hot"?

(+2)

Oh wow thank you for your continuous support!

SPOILERS

1. Unfortunately they are not related. I tend to use the surname "Johnson" for every named but not important NPC character I have lmao.

2. Originally Ivy and Joseph are supposed to have their own route, but due to scoping and writer's block, I decided to ax their route. Basically, I wanted some of Ivy and Joseph's endings to exist in the same universe as some of Camille and Osgoode's endings, thus the difference in Ivy's survival status lmao.

3. Ahahhaha I'll probably recycle Joseph's story in the future. But originally his route is about Joseph slowly turning into a tentacle monster and how the doomed couple tries to stop the transformation. It goes about as well as you expect.

4. If I write a story that is suitable for the otome audience base, I'll definitely advertise it here ahahahha.

5. There is a short story in the planning that continues from ending 9. I will make an announcement once it's completed.

6. I'm a firm believer that a good story should make you feel something. Since I'm not talented enough to write impactful fluff yet, I stick to horror and sadness masquerading as romance or fluff lmao.

7. ITYH means I Take Your Hand ahahhahah. You know, just like how Osgoode took Camille's hand.

I love the horror and sadness owo

This was 10/10,  AMAZING AS ALWAYS AMIRALO:=)
