Thank you so much for playing and for your kind words! I'm glad the characters interest you, if people are interested I would be open to adding some bonus content to the 1.1 version relating to backstory.
And sneak peek, I am slowly working on a medieval fantasy AU game with these characters where they will get happier endings .
wow, i can't believe i never checked this game out earlier! i loooved the atmosphere you created and ilya is a very interesting character (i may be biased because i am also making a game with an ilya lol) and i really loved seeing how differently things could go depending on your dialogue choices.
will be keeping an eye out for the full release!!!
Things are proceeding well! I recruited some people for other roles in the game and I've set the deadline for finishing by the end of March rather than the beginning, because I didn't want to rush anyone and they're working on other projects as well. I still think it's quite possible the game will be finished before then, everything is looking very good
Welcome back, Aleema! I was so surprised when I saw Tenshi mention your name in the otome development Discord, but it's amazing to see someone I looked up to in the Lemma Soft days still making games. You definitely have no idea who I am, but I think you were a big presence and inspiration to people with dreams of making their own games one day. I hope you continue to hold on to your passion for game development and I'll definitely be watching whatever you do next! (This devlog made me kind of emotional, thank you for your earnestness.)
I am so blown away by the atmosphere and writing of this game!!!!! I was completely enraptured from the first moment, and I feel like I could read your descriptions of anything forever. The style feels like the marriage of denpa VNs and Dostoevsky, which is not something I imagined coming across, but now I feel I don't want to live without it. I'm going to check out more of your stuff for sure!
I really liked the strong visual identity of this game! The story is nice and concise, and I liked the little glimpses we got of the protagonist's personality and life. There was a lot of storytelling between the lines, which at times made things a bit hard to follow, and the visuals for the characters felt disorienting, adding to the overall unsettling feeling. Very cool Spooktober entry.
This is such a lovely game, very impressive as a solo 1 month affair! I love the watercolour art, and the sheer amount of sprite variations and CGs were very nice to see. Fern and Esca's outfit designs are so good! As for the writing, I especially liked how the worldbuilding was very naturally revealed throughout the story.
Finally got a chance to play this and it was really interesting! I loved the dynamic presentation with the flashback scenes, and the nautical theme present everywhere. It's refreshing to read a story that explores the struggles of a pre-existing relationship which is so rare in VNs! The unsettling atmosphere is bone-chilling despite the fact nothing horrible or grotesque has happened, but I can't help wanting to believe in my husband... (if he even is my husband...
Thank you robobarbie, this is what I needed

Project name: Our Light Affliction: Spider's Covenant (spent like 2000 years brainstorming this but i might still change it...)
Description: Edelweiss, a young diviner in training, gets roped into a contract with a spider apparition, who wants her help in ruling over the realm beyond that connects to her school. The school's resident exorcist is not about to let them have their way. Shape Edelweiss' thoughts and morality as she fails to heed the warning that all diviners and exorcists alike must know: to intertwine the mortal realm with the realm beyond can lead to naught but misfortune.
It's an otome VN with 1.5 LIs where the choices determine whether the characters have positive or negative development arcs!
When you started the project: This was originally my NaNoRenO 2024 concept...
Your personal due date: I believe I should be able to finish before the jam ends, but let's play it safe and set the jam's end as the ultimate deadline.
this game was so good!!!!! i love the subtly spooky vibes all throughout the work. both kaito and jun are precious, although I definitely have a soft spot for jun.
the cohesive aesthetic throughout the whole work is really inspiring! from the backgrounds to the sprites to the UI, even the screen resolution. and i love the way you used ren'py to its fullest potential with the minigame and the choice screen towards some of the endings.
i'll be keeping an eye out for your future stuff!
It took me way, way too long to actually play this especially considering I knew it would be exactly up my alley but ahhhhh, Ebi, I love this VN so much!!!
Spoilery stuff down here I guess?
I've always been intrigued by second-person perspective and the possibilities they offer and this was a wonderful exploration! A bunch of the themes in this are so similar to Duskbound, like the importance placed on names and the different endings all having a place in the narrative canonically. I loved the princess route the most I think, the idea of eating someone as an expression of love just resonates. It's the perfect crossroads of romance and horror. (I don't know if you've read Toilet Bound Hanako-kun but it also includes this beautifully, big rec!) Reading something so cool has reignited my passion for making my own stuff. Thank you so much Ebi!!!
