I'm glad the emotions reached you on that part! It means the scene did its job. Your assumption is correct. :) That flickering of the player's SOUL, that's the SOULmate flicker. And we're not the only one that feels it. Sans feels it, too. And he realizes that, despite solidifying that bond in a previous timeline.... you decided not to reunite with him as a SOULmate. Of course, he's happy for his brother and he's happy for the player.
But it hurts him.
I would've loved to see that reaction, honestly LOL It always makes me so happy to know that people get so into the story that they have to flail or slam their hands on the table.
And, of course, Flowey wouldn't be Flowey if there wasn't a comment or two (or twenty) about your playthroughs. ;)
