I'm having trouble with the game after I use my 12.0 saves in 14.0. Do I need to a 13.2 saves here instead of a 12.0 or no?
Always read the readme. If you patched the game, you need 0.13.2, because the .2 is the framework needed to patch the game.Otherwise, you'll have to do the classic download from scratch.
I downloaded 14.0 from scratch since I haven't played the game since 12.0
