The torch had some weird issues, but it should be fixed by now.
The handle behind the shelf unlocked a secret area, a couple of steps back where you came from.
Unfortunately that coffin lid at the end seemed to do some weird behaviors. I don’t know why, but luckily it didn’t break the game.
You got that ending, because you used the cursed blood from the potion you found in the prison.
