I'm not sure it matters with the jam already finished, but I think adding monsters to this would've been a bad idea anyway. Unless you had an turn-based system ready, the environment is really suitable to a walking sim and any real time first-person combat without strafing tends to be horrid. I think if you had had time for more stuff, music and maybe critters running by harmlessly would've been better ways to supplement what you made already.
