Hyblitz (of LittleKnightGames) is a friend of mine from the PGMMV community, I first played this back during the 2019-2020 PGMMV Game Dev Challenge. I understand this has gone through some rework/revisions and I wanted to give this game some attention and feedback given all the changes.

Not sure if anyone has told you this recently, but your game breaks right after the introduction. The protagonist is stuck running in place after the button tutorial prompts and I can't proceed. I see other comments from a couple months ago not pointing this out, so I assume whatever broke was recent.

I won't rate your game until it's fixed and I can go through what you have, but I'll share my impressions so far (and will edit this comment later on as the things are fixed):

-Option menu didn't work...? (I understand this is still a WIP, but you should have a basic options screen in there. I'm talking even just a volume slider for BGM, SFX, and Voice channel if applicable). It was weird to have the option selectable on the title screen but then get booted back to the menu.

-I assume you're using Joe's action text plugin, you should have SFX play when a character is speaking and the message is writing out. Something a bit understated but noticeable.

-This is a little extra effort, but you should be able to press "A" again during a message to skip to the next one. Think of people who want to speed run your game, or are replaying it and have already seen all the dialogue.

-Your tutorial/button prompts/etc. look great! So does the new character design. I did kinda prefer the cuter/kirby looking version from before but the pixel art on the new version is amazing.

Thanks for checking out our game!  I wanted to ask you a couple of questions about your experience.  When did you get stuck running in place exactly?  I just tried playing the game myself and I was able to progress through all of the early tutorial prompts without getting stuck so I am curious where exactly it is happening for you.

I was also able to skip dialogue with the "A" button during the tutorials and early part of the game so I wanted to know what part of the talking you were not able to skip?

The options menu in-game is also working for me, but the one on the title menu does not so I assume that is the one you are talking about, we will certainly fix that in future updates.

So I've got an update for you. After reading your response I redownloaded your game, and the same bug happened to me again. To be more helpful I decided to record it for you, but every single time I tried to recreate it, it wouldn't happen again.

I decided to delete the game files, and use a fresh set, and the bug happened. I don't know 'how' these two things are related exactly. I did also notice your button prompt for 'A' had timing that was thrown off for the last two tutorial windows. That definitely has something to do with it, but the question is what is throwing that timing off in the first place? I've sent the footage to Hyblitz.

Also, as for the message text: I noticed after the initial section, you can do what I mentioned with skipping messages. Though in that opening section pressing A to skip messages doesn't work before the message is finished writing out.
