That was a fun little game, thank you! I love puzzles!

A few suggestions that may or may not make sense :)

  • I’m not sure about others, but I love assembling puzzle without knowing what’s in the picture (tiny preview doesn’t hurt that). A special gamemode (option to remove the hint) for such geeks might be welcome.

  • Option (for players like me) to have (significantly, like 4x-8x) more puzzle pieces would be welcome. It’s way too easy now, no feel of achievement. Of course that’d work only for more varied images, would be too boring otherwise.

  • During the start, the pieces are scattered all around the table. It takes around a minute to (almost mindlessly) clean up an area to start working. Many times lost “that last piece” under the already-made image.

  • With the hint in-place it’s not always clear which part of the puzzle is actually missing, especially in dark regions. Maybe not darkening it, but de-saturate (grayscale?) and reduce the contrast instead? Add blur? Negative? (Personally I’d rather have an additional option to remove it completely)

  • The pieces “flicker” when the mouse is over them + plays some sound effect. Especially for large assembled regions (like the whole image) it’s fun at first, but quickly becomes annoying.

  • Music is way to repetitive and quickly becomes annoying. Maybe a good idea (for future projects) will be to pick a longer soundtrack? As last puzzles took me around 5 minutes to assemble, that should be the “lower estimate” for the total music duration (one track or a playlist).

Thank you very much for your suggestions and for taking the time to share them. And do not worry; they all make sense.

However, while some are already possible by changing some parameters within the setting menu, others are not that easy to put into practice. :)

We are trying to find a better way to let players know about already implemented features, such as:

  • hide the preview image or adjust its transparency
  • turn music and sounds independently on/off
  • adjust volume independently for sounds and music
  • highlight (or not) the hovered piece of the puzzle
  • toggle fullscreen using F11
  • show settings window using F9
  • reset the profile to start fresh, using the main menu
  • check personal best times using the vertical toolbar's icon
  • hide/show timer
  • change background color to darker/lighter

In addition, we are looking for a design idea that will allow for multiple difficulty levels, and we are working on an experimental way of "clustering" the puzzle pieces on a few spots outside the actual image/puzzle area.

Thank you again and warm regards.
