This is definitely an interesting game!
It’s artwork is incredibly cute and the sound design works amazingly well with the style you are going after. Furthermore, the controls felt spot-on for what I would anticipate out of this kind of game and I enjoyed it overall!
My main complaint comes in with UI and features. This game is exceptionally well polished and put together, but in trade I feel it sacrifices mechanics. I would have loved to see additional mechanics to keep each wave interesting. As well, I felt the story option and the dual-sided bars for the rounds were a bit on the redundant side.
Overall, seriously good game! I would strongly encourage this to be developed further outside of this jam and kept as a browser game! Do this and I feel you will have a gem of a game!
