I saw my toad, toby
flattened on the ground, face holey
I patted his head, my hand drowned in red
as I watched my toad squelch into my hand
his eyes bulged, my insides roared
nausea kicking in as my stomach folds
and toby, my toad, my beautiful toad, laid back to be flattened right there on the road
