This is the first game I've seen that combined 2D and 3D to legitimately great effect to get across the chaos element, with a very out there idea that really interested me as soon as I saw.  Personally I was not expecting that animation to play bringing me to the arcade machine.  I was fully expecting it to just switch scenes into the actual game.

The whole physics setup for the bags, cans etc. that come onto the arcade machine is awesome.  Especially the fact that the controls can impact them.  That was not expected by me at all, I assumed that they would just be affected by the... shaking(?) of the machine and was quickly proven wrong.

One thing I would like to note though, is that the physics definitely led to a lot of times where removing something from the machine took forever due to the objects being very stubborn physics wise, partially due to the controls as well helping them to avoid getting knocked off.  So it definitely lead to some times where I was just sitting there and having to spam try and remove the props from the machine to be able to see ANYTHING.  So I feel like some tweaking of that would be a good idea.

Overall though this is definitely the most finished game I've seen in this jam, and in most jams I've checked out.  Especially for a one person team trying to pull off such a unique visual style.  The shader plus the environment and the level design were all great.  I'd love to see more levels and see what other puzzles can happen.

thank you for the detailed feedback :)

yeah I know the physics can be frustrating but its hard to balance around that considering the visuals. I would probably have to have played around more with weight/invisible hitboxes and lower spawn timers in order to make it more "bearable". But instead my ape brain wanted to make more powerups and a second boss >¬<

My quick fix was to make all external factors optional through the "zen" mode. Have you tried that? Maybe you would find that a bit more enjoyable even though it takes a bit away from the "chaos" part.

Anyways thanks for detailed analysis of what you did and did not like <3

Oh don't get me wrong, I plenty enjoyed the game in the chaos mode lol.  Just pointing out some issues and bits that in my opinion I'd tweak, I kinda wanted to use the zen mode but I dunno.  It felt like removing too much of the game, so I didn't.

I see, thx ^^
