Is it weird that I can see magic eyes no problem but can't even make out these still images, much less the game?  I can even see the images produced by that applet just fine.

The problem is that they are extremely blurry, so it is very difficult to make the image come into focus, because the focused image is also blurry. 

I'm in the same boat as you, and it's really disappointing to not be able to play this game. The only way I was able to make out the image in the screenshots was to scale down to 50% (effectively reduces the blur), and then slowly go back to 100%. But even then, at 100% scale it's really difficult to maintain because of the blurred pixels.

I don't get it. Why would you make the image so blurry? Even when you play the game at 640x480 the pixels are big and blurry.

Use nearest neighbour sampling please!

Added an option for nearest neighbor (change filter mode in the options). It makes the image much sharper, but I don't notice much difference in the stereogram effect. Let me know if it helps; I might make it the default if people prefer it.

Actually playable now, Good work!

Although as others have mentioned the depth is the most limiting factor, I keep being killed by enemies that are out of vision range. And I never really played much DOOM so it took me quite a while to figure out that a wall was actually a door, the monochrome vision really hurts in that regard.

But it's a neat experience.
