I tried now with Avira and indeed also reported a Trojan in the nif-32 file. Renpy creates 2 exe files, one for 32-bit windows architecture (called nif-32 in my game) and one for 64-bit (called nif.exe in my game).

For whatever reason, nif-32 is being flagged by avira but not by Windows defender, avg, malwarefox, avast, malwarebytes or bitdefender. It’s renpy’s job to compile the software and I can’t or know how to do anything about it.

If you have a 64-bit windows installed, you can let the antivirus delete the nif-32 file because you don’t need it for anything. You just need the nif.exe executer. If you have a 32-bit windows architecture and need to run nif-32 to play the game, you’re welcome to try to scan the files with other anti-virus like I did to reassure you that’s a false positive.

I’ll try to investigate this issue better and see if there’s some way to prevent it for next release. Perhaps by compiling with a different renpy version.
