I just tested and was able to use righteous fire direct on the back row (version 0.5.2b).  Kathrin is a lamia equipped with a draconic sword; her classes are in order: fighter, rogue, archer, templar, knight, sniper, assassin, and engineer.  Dacia, a dragonkin fighter/paladin/archer/rogue/templar equipped with mythril spear was able to afflict silence on the healer as well.   And, bro, you need to hit the 500 rep mark with the fighters guild to even unlock the lich quest.

v5.2b---sounds like I need 2 upgrade again.
  "righteous fire" is supposed to keep target from firing/attacking, right?   Are some immune from that?  cause   (just tested  *TODAY* )   many fire & do damage anyway. Or is that a bug?     [Repeatable]    -- On rebels just like you have. Most Fighter Guild quests don't pay enough, hence regardless of gold,  I usually wind up only able to "buy" Paladin after Day 28;
(somehow got off?  *TEMPLAR*  has the "Righteous Fire" )

Only have it on a few   (several different MC chars)     Will have to test it on the back row again,  but ----with them doing damage anyway  (not "silenced")     not useful & what's the point?

Mostly been using scholar instead  for fire dam, & as mentioned rarely see benefit to Templar

(+1)

Righteous fire is only supposed to affect spell casting.  They'll still be able to attack or use abilities if they have them.  So the NPC would be barred from casting Heal or Blizzard, but could still use Water Strike.  Given the choice, I'd rather have one of my front row slaves take a little damage than having my back row get stunned via blizzard.  I haven't done much testing to see what qualifies as a "spell" with higher level critters in the ancient jungle or molten core.

Loading saves with Import Mode toggled on should let you keep all your characters, but I haven't messed around with it.  I just start a new game when versions change.

YIKES!      Do u know will old saves still work on new V 5.2b???       [have several MCs & LOTS of saves!]

5.2x saves work on 5.2b. I started my current save in 5.2 and it works 5.2b. Most of the 5.2 patches have been bug fixes. However, there was an issue with main quest breaking that may cause issues with later 5.2 version. I didn't get that far before the fix, so can't say from experience.

Am testing the 5.2*B* version now.

If you talk to anyone about it  (found out the hard way!)  BEWARE:
There's a "5.2"  version out there with *MAJOR* problems:     won't start new games, etc.

Thanks 4 the info on "silence"----was thinking about writing a bug report   (YES works on back row on 5.2b, but have already found some that seem "immune" to it.)    So it blocks *MAGIC* dam ONLY   (why?!?)
Far as I can remember, the worst stuff is all "mass" dam----Magic?    (like the Lich "Decay")    ---is that the same as the Nec   (Magic) spell?

Most of the class benefits   (make me wonder if they're worth it!)  only help *ONE* char @ a time----so anything that does dam to a ROW/LINE/GROUP is the hardest to fix.  (you can generally only heal 1 char/time----mention "mass heal" problems earlier. )
Not really concerned about "top offs"  lol  so much as  "How do you prevent fix *EVERYBODY* taking 70-105 dam pts?!?   [2-3 hits of Lich Decay]    Demoness Bitch or somebody else has similar "MASS DAM"    (I assume, SPELL?  Or is there mass physical Dam? [like Orc's "

Earth Shatter" : Deals physical earth damage to all targets.] )

Lich-----So far,  my best success,  is mostly:
a) use *HI HEALTH* chars    (elves low health etc often die quickest)   &     [120 seems to be a Min health]
b)  SPEED.    Tried high ham b4 & either died or some of squad did----but key seems to be killing *EVERYBODY*     (once in a while it's not a full 6?)  as quickly as possible;       Even 2 hits   [Decay   35*2=70 dam]  is *STILL*  much better than 3!
c) Paladin   (IF I have them----the "focus dam"   helps a lot)

Do you have an archer with the sniper class? They can hit the back row with Explosive arrow or a mage with the Scholar class? They have the Fire arrow spell. Liches are vulnerable to fire and only have 150 hp. They should be easy to kill.
