Loved the game and the upgrade perks! The design is great, keep it up.

Great game! It would be nice to have more tools after some days, because after a dozen days the game becomes repetitive, but in a Jam we don’t have the time to do so, and the work you did is really nice!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Fully get the repetitiveness, could've just ended the game when the player gets to 10 days or so but decided to make it endless :) Will be adding more stuff to do soon!

cool game although a tutorial would be great as i didn't quite know what to do. none the less cool game.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Will add it to the list of things to add to the game :)

Good game! True, I still did not understand how to collect gold faster in order to hold out longer. I was able to pay the rent for 5 days. Well, I hope the lizard will have a place to live :)

P.S. sorry for my English, I know it very badly and I am writing via google translator:)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed! Your English is perfectly readable don't worry :)

Pretty neat, main issue is the lack of player feedback via sound or particle effects but of course it's a jam so there's no time for everything. Maybe having some assets be pixel art and some not make it look a bit off too, but it has a nice gameplay loop concept

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I think everything has sounds but they're too quiet, will do some tweaking at some point so all of them can be heard. Also definitely going to be updating the sprites so they fit with each other :)

Submitted(+1)

It might also be an issue with my own audio configuration probably, but I'm glad to know you're gonna take a look into it + the sprites, thanks for your reply

They all look good, don't get me wrong. I was talking a bit more about the fact that the tools seem to have a very different style from the rest of the world or the character. Oh and don't worry too much about the sound effects, it's understandable and I just missed on a couple of things due to my audio configuration

This was a lot of fun, I only made it to the point where i could pay 47 for rent, couldnt get ore fast enough after that.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I think the rent system still needs a bit of tweaking so people can get the upgrades quicker. Either way, glad you enjoyed!

This was enjoyable, though it got expensive fast, to live in that little shack!
I only made it 4 days, and i only manage to buy move-speed-upgrade.

Some quick ideas:
There are two paths that doesn't seem to go anywhere. Maybee they could have been connected?

There was a sound when hitting rock, but not when chopping tree, making it hard to know if one hit it or missed.

Once in a while, the character faces the wrong way, even though i was pretty sure my last input was left, and the mouse-pointer was on his left, still he hit right.

I just hope that cute lizard can find his only little miss lizard some day, and move into a fallen log or something. A pan-handling Lizard would surely be a heart-breaking sight. :'(

Thanks for the feedback! I plan to add more stuff down those paths but for now they just have a chance to lead near trees. There is a tree hitting noise but it does seem to be quiet, think the swinging sound makes it hard to hear. And that character facing bug is driving me mad, got no idea what's causing it sadly, gonna have to dissect my code :(

If you give it  another go a pickaxe/axe upgrade might help with the gold, but either way I appreciate all the helpful feedback!

A little boring, but it does have a proper gameplay loop that can keep people hooked for a little bit. It's also got a nice spawning system that makes sure that you can collect enough gold if you keep upgrading your tools and speed. The timer is well implemented with the gameplay, and works well to make sure your getting stuff done. It's a very simple game but it's well scoped and the systems work.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Gonna be adding more stuff to do at some point so hopefully won't get repetitive quickly :)

Neat little game, I think if you fall behind on the gathering, due to increasing rent, it's hard or almost impossible to catch, but otherwise, it was quite cool.

Played it on stream, in case you wanted to see some gameplay:

Watched the full thing, really cool to see someone play my game! This was my first jam so I was a bit hesitant to ask for team members to get art and music but will definitely consider it in the future :) The tool assets are at the top of my list of improvements, definitely going to make them fit in with the rest of the game.

Thanks for the feedback!

This is really fun and the upgrade system made me keep hitting continue! Also really like the art and music, the lizard is so cute! Also, the sound effects for hitting the objects are a good addition. This game is pretty relaxing and it's easy to spend lots of rounds playing.

Thank you so much for all the kind words! The lizard is definitely the star of the show here :)
