Suggestion: Unarmed 'weapons'


Weapons where the character strikes with a clenched fist to deal damage.

Dependent on the strength attribute for determining damage.

Unique trait of all unarmed weapons is a chance to attack twice in one turn with higher strength and more advanced weapons increasing the probability (capped at 100% chance) - balanced out by the fact that unarmed weapons deal inferior damage compared to standard weapons per hit of equivalent tier and the second hit deals 50% less damage.


Weapons:

Fist - starting weapon, no special traits.

Boxing glove - higher base chance of double attack then expected.

Brass knuckles - higher chance of critical damage.

Cestus - higher damage then expected.

Ancient roman boxing gloves, maybe with metal studs.

Gauntlet - increases defense.

Something along the lines of a knights gauntlet.

Power fist - Chance to stun.

Like the knights gauntlet but upgraded with science.

Dragon Talon - chance to burn.

Looks like a claw.

Fighting Spirit - Chance to ignore defence.

Simple animation around fists.


The defense increase on the gauntlets is a 5% reduction in physical damage.

The stun effect on the power fist is a 10% chance to stun the target for 1 turn.

The burn effect on the dragon talon is a 10% chance to to deal an additional 10% damage rounded to the nearest full number.

the ignore defense effect of the fighting spirit is a 10% chance to ignore physical defense of a target.

Base unarmed damage is 1 point per 10 strength so at 100 strength the basic fists weapon would deal 10 damage.

Each unarmed weapon increased the amount of damage done per 10 strength with the exception of the basic fist weapon:

Boxing glove - 2

Brass knuckles - 3

Cestus - 5

Gauntlet - 6

Power fist - 7

Dragon Talon - 8

Fighting spirit - 9


The probability of a double attack is 1% per 10 strength capped at 20% plus a bonus from the different weapons:

Fist - 10%

Boxing glove - 25%

Brass knuckles - 20%

Cestus - 30%

Gauntlet - 40%

Power fist - 50%

Dragon Talon - 60%

Fighting spirit - 70%

So a standard fist would have a 30% chance at 100 strength to deal an additional 5  damage.


Where to get the fist weapons:

Fist - N/A, start with it.

Boxing glove - Can be purchased.

Brass knuckles - Can be purchased.

Cestus - Treasure container in the world.

Gauntlet - Treasure container in the world.

Power fist - Upgrade a gauntlet.

Dragon Talon - drop from rare creature.

Fighting spirit - Talk to an NPC with at least one of each unarmed weapon except a fighting spirit.

I thought the game could use some more weapon options and had the idea that a brawler build could be a fun option.
