Actually i've found some things missing, maybe it was just things that you left there for later versions, but still i want to tell you.
My gf founded that, don't matter how much you know about sports, when you teach it to class 3 you always get the worsest result.

About the problem teaching sports in a specific class, Maybe they're too good in sports. This will make the results of teach this subject goes down. The logic is, if a class already know a lot about something, they might not learn so much more about this subject. This will force players to teach something else. BUT, i'll check if something is wrong with the code.
I don't wanna abuse, but could your girlfriend apply a surprise test on this class with the subject sports and see what happens with grades? I bet this class is already good in sports subjects!

Btw, how do we learn about music, movie, and the other things we can't learn in the university? Oh and about work too, I've worked a lot and i it doesn't learn nothing about work at all.
