yeah, I beat it! In Holosaur, I never had the experience of needing to stop and really think because a level seemed impossible (which is what I like; some of my favorite puzzle games are Snakebird and Stephen’s Sausage Roll) – it was always something more like “ah I guess I need to have pressed that one button a bit longer”.

There was one level with 2 exit paths in the final room, where each path had 3 doors blocking the way. When I played this, I started messing around to try and understand what the puzzle was asking me to do, and what sort of obstacles there were preventing me from winning, but I accidentally beat it on my first try without needing to really understand it.

To be clear: this is a really really high bar to meet!! I’m comparing your 48 hour game to some of my favorite puzzle games of all time, which isn’t very fair. I think my gmtk submission is much more confusing to play compared to Holosaur, and also doesn’t have the sort of puzzles I’m talking about here, so I’m impressed with your submission! (I think Too Many Daves is mainly “hard” because I didn’t figure out a good way to explain the confusing mechanics, not because the puzzles themselves were particularly intricate)
