This is sooo different from the rest of games, it's pretty cool that you created in so little time a card system for a game.

Nice Job!

Thank you! Board games are a huge influence. Solo games and videogames have a lot in common, so I used a bit from both "worlds".

Amazing system and balancing for a game jam submission. It took me one game to find out that the TV is for resting. :'D

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! I will be honest and say, while this is the first complete game I submit, I have a couple unfinished proyects about resource management on my computer. This is the first one with card costs, though, so I'm glad that worked out balance-wise. I do think now Imaginary Friend should cost 4 but it's not a big deal.

I enjoyed the strategy with picking different cards. Text can be a bit too much at times, but I enjoyed the atmosphere and theme of the game.

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play!  I do like how it turned out, so I'll look into less wordy ways to convey information. Thinking about it now, some pictures of the different scenes would add a lot and replace the descriptions (show the toy flying, etc.). I don't see a Slay the Spire setup working for a game like this, but it can definitely be more dynamic next time.

Enjoyable and for the most part intuitive enough. I assumed mess was something you wanted to avoid and fun was a good thing.  After all I was at one time a child ;).

I, like probably many other, did not read the instructions but the game was still  playable and completable.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, I wanted to avoid symbols for the resources, using words for Mess and Fun as that is more evocative. Glad to hear it was intuitive!

Unique, simple and clever. I think I was 2 turns left from winning on my first try.

Good work!

EDIT: I'd also like to add that there's a bit too much text around, I think you could teach the basics of the game using graphics, arrows etc. or make the text fancier and more attention-grabbing.

Developer

I get what you mean. I told myself the tutorial would be seen once and then forgotten about, but it's also the first thing you see, so it leaves an impression. It's a huge wall of text that could have been split into a couple pages with pictures.

Thanks for taking the time to play!
