I like the main character having an identity of their own, and customization like that would go against my design philosophy. I thoroughly disagree with the approach of customizing how a character is only in a character creation screen, so to implement true customization would drastically increase the amount of dialogue options and therefore branches as you would need to account for all the different options. I do think customizing the main character's gender identity and pronouns to fit your vision of them is important in a game where the character isn't very defined for the purposes of immersion, but in a game like Absolution, the character has her own arc and her own story to tell and I felt like customization would take away from that.
