I hate to say it, but there's something wrong with your computer. BSOD is caused by a hardware issue, not software. The game should run at 90hz even on a 1080. Many users have reported such. I have no experience with the G2, so I can't really help there, but a 2080ti is more than powerful enough on any other HMD.
What CPU do you have and what's the temperature of it? Might be an issue there.
BSOD of G2 (not computer) is a common problem with G2 when the GPU is overloaded. It is well documented in G2 subreddit. It happens when the computer cannot efficiently render the graphics. I can fix the problem by lowering rendering scale to 50% in steam VR and force enable reporjection but the video quality suffers of course.
Even when i enter the game succesfully, after select seated or standing and continue, the new version get me on top of the flying car (not instead, on top, and i cannot get into the car to click on any menu hence unable to continue game, that's another bug i found
