I gave it another try and now I got the hang of it. Is it so that when player is in air shurikens fly further? I could finish the level this time :)

yep. The strength of skuriken changes when you are standing still, when you are walking and when you are in the air. The skuriken spawns in the player's head and accelerates in the direction of the mouse.
I was going to do a more detailed tutorial but I thought it was not worth wasting time on it so I got lazy.
