Any planned interactions between the weapon elements and the environment?

Hey Fish! Hope you're doing well, and happy new year (well, at least in a few days).

I haven't quite had the ability to check this myself, but I was wondering if the water in the Toilet Realm (or at least what I presume is water) interacts with the new fire element/damage over time effect at all. It seems like it'd make some sense for fire-based weapons not to work underwater, and for enemies that are on fire to be extinguished when they interact with water. Perhaps the future elements could also interact with water in some way that affects their usage significantly. (I think you proposed lighting at some point, perhaps it'd become more/less effective underwater, or using lightning while you're in water would deal some self-damage.)

Obviously, I'm aware that implementing that might be a hassle, but it could be a fun mechanic that makes players reconsider what weapons they want to bring for certain areas and encounters, facilitated by the inventory system.

I'm considering it, I know it's a bit unrealistic lol. I left it as-is just so that I could get the update out sooner. I plan to improve the water system a bit, and when I do that I'll take a look at elemental interactions. It'd be cool to be able to freeze water as well! The challenge is just to keep the game running on low end PCs so everyone can still play haha

Totally agree- it might be tough to get a lot of the fancier/more complex interactions coded and optimized, but I'm glad you've thought of them. I think just implementing the water/fire interaction would be a big step forwards in that regard, and isn't too scope-creep-y, if you get what I mean.

Oh yeah, stuff like that would be super cool! At least for puzzles that would be nice, so you would still have one reason to collect different elemental weapons for a quest or two.

Not to mention, lightning and other elemental stuff would really fit the game (Though I wonder how people will do the sound effect(s) for them? The closest I can get to a "lightning" sfx is having a whistling mouth contortion with my tongue covering the hole while humming, though it is a funny sound)

Edit: Now I'm making random noises to sound like lightning. Great
