Pretty great Yume Nikki fangame! It’s very faithful and more akin to Yume 2kki. I really enjoyed the nautical theme, it made for some great areas to explore. I was also happy to see that you didn’t just make it all nautical, there was some variety. There was a good balance of environments ranging from peaceful, to melancholy, to downright spooky. I like that there was a tie in to the character’s real life experiences (as hinted in the emails she receives) and the dreams she has. It added a bit of flavor to the game! Being able to collect music and images was also a plus!
I also really appreciate you kept the flashing lights to a minimum! Personal preference here, but I get a bit of a headache during segments in game's with flashing lights. It was nice to see a more conservative approach to the light effects in this game. I haven’t beaten the game as of this comment, but I do plan to go back to try and see if I can find all the effects. (I have 2 left!)
Very minor thing, I was able to download the game through the web page fine, but it would be nice to be able to install and play the game through the itch.io app as well.
