It's no problem, just something that you should keep in mind for next time working on a game.

I believe I'm probably right in the fact that it's a cultural thing, lots of places it's still seemingly acceptable to make jokes like that for some reason, and probably it wasn't meant as an insult to anyone at all but was just an unfortunate accidental implication, that would only be noticed by people who have been bullied for years by bigots using insults like that (meaningfully).

But using the word "special" to describe someone in an obvious undertone (set by the picture), is similar to referring to someone with a very offensive R word. Maybe you saw it as a joke and it's probable that you didn't see it as more than some kind of humor. But to some people, racism and homophobia are also attempts at "humor", which usually lead to them being blocked by most people, whereas it hasn't gotten to a point that as many people know as much about the negative sides of ableism.

I think the game was very well presented, I loved the graphics and enjoyed the music, and I would have continued to play it had I not managed to get myself stuck really early. I think it's really cool that you went to the effort to make an intro too. I think that aside from this one issue, it was the best game, game play wise I have played in the jam so far.

It just happened to be that I'm somebody who would be really upset by jokes like that. I'm really sorry to bring negativity to your game, especially after you left me a nice comment. But scrolling through the comments seeing people applauding the "humor", makes me worry about the amount of people that don't understand how hurtful words like that can be to some people.
