Possibility of having (almost) unlimited energy (Contains Spoilers)

It is possible to have almost unlimited energy because of the spell Invigorate. The bug is that while outside in the world you can cast the spell on yourself as long as you have mana. Now mana at the very beginning of the game might not be much. But around the time you get the spell Invigorate it should be easy for you to get mana. So in one in-game day you could have countless fights and money from fighting enemies outside also you could use your energy to break locked chests in certain areas. You could also capture many enemies (or innocents) and sell them to the slave guild continuously only having to use Invigorate afterwards. (Remember you have an option to rape enemies and innocents which means mana is restored by a certain number of points. Which means you can use invigorate again and again when you need it.) This won't work well with characters you bring with you because they have a Stress meter/levels that increase overtime while in the world with you. You could cast Sedation on them which drop their stress levels but it can only be used once a day I think.

I think the spell Mutation also causes problems with Mage Guild missions like you need a character with specific characteristics and you got those certain characteristics using Mutation. But the Mage Guild for some reason does not accept that person. You would probably have to use the lab to make those changes to satisfy certain conditions.

What happens to the points your character has left out after you max them? I'm level 13 but have 8 points outstanding and I didn't the option of converting it into resource points which can be done with other characters.

Please tell me if any of the mods I provided happens to actually affect the problems I've stated. Thank you.

I'm using version 1.0a of Strive for power. Playing on windows 10.

I'm only using three mods which I don't think affects this or has anything to do with the problem. The three mods are:

*Chastity belt

*Expanded sex

*Strive-1.0d-Bugfix-V2

The game isn't well balanced and there are currently no plans to change that for vanilla Strive. While I took on the role of polishing up the game, it was my intent to minimally re-balance or re-imagine the game. In effect, balance was an issue left for mods to decide. Most mods make the game even easier and less restrictive, but a few add more challenges and restrictions. Unfortunately the biggest mods do not play well with each other(including Chastity Belt),  but for different balance check out Aric's, Ralph's, or Leo's mods. Note, the first two only work for v0.5.25 so they provide their own game downloads, though Leo's only works on v1.0a.

Invigorate is hardly significant in terms of imbalance. Neither energy nor stress are required to significantly impact play and can both be mostly ignored until relevant moments like ending the day, so regardless if you spam Invigorate or not it is possible to exploit those systems. On the flip side, there are almost no penalties for simply ending the day to recover energy or spamming it generate infinite gold/mana from slave jobs.

Stat points on the player in vanila simply build up once you are maxed out, though being able to spend them on slaves is often considered part of a massive balance problem. The mods listed above change stat point systems in various ways, though I don't remember if they effect the player character's points.

You mention that you are using version 1.0a of Strive, but using Strive-1.0d-Bugfix-V2. Perhaps you misstated your version or perhaps that happens to work(I haven't tested), but it was only intended for v1.0d and could easily break stuff in other versions. Besides that, 1.0d fixes many problems in 1.0a, and is currently available despite the site saying 1.0a is the current version. Both mutation and slave turn-in quests were overhauled. If you still have problems with the Mutation spell in version 1.0d(with bugfix), feel free to give more detailed reports. I expect that biggest remaining problem would be the specialization requirements.

Thank you for your reply and enlightening me. I do enjoy this game quite a bit. And yes I am using Strive 1.0a. I'm going to try 1.0d with the bugfix. And 1.0a with Leo's mod. Thank you :)

My mod prioritises balance and entirely removes the spell invigorate. You can try that if you like, running with Strive version 1.0a (fails on 1.0d), expanded sex (not chastity), and random portraits. Strive will never be fully balanced so don't set your expectations too high.

Thanks. Definitely going to try out your mod with Strive 1.0a and with the mods you listed as compatible.
