Thanks for the feedback. I added the slowdown because I needed some way for this to work with the jams theme. I was going to make it so the more times the axe bounced the weaker it got but I ran out of time. The reason for the incredibly powerful ranged enemies is because I wasn't planning on entering the jam so I was just trying to make a very difficult NES like game. The screen cut in half bug happened because on my screen I was able to see to different rooms and I wanted it so you could only see 1 I thought that on different sized screens the screen cut would shrink or go away.
