No, you don't need warm clothes, just advance the main plot. check out the help function in the on-map menu if you are stuck.

Well, start with restoring the castle.

Talk to her and bring her the fire essence from the desert region.
where would she be after you find her? shes not in the fox shrine or the castle
I think you have to upgrade the castle and just go too every room, after all events she should be at the shrine
