Various keys don't work (Ubuntu)

There are a number of keys that don't work for me in this app, running under Ubuntu 18.04 with Gnome.

  • Shift and Alt don't work for multi-select and removing from selection.
  • WASD works, but Shift does not increase the speed.
  • Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V do not copy and paste.
  • Backspace key doesn't work when editing notes, nor for deleting them.

I see there is a bug on Github about problems with German keyboard layouts. I probably should have mentioned that I am using a Spanish keyboard. However, all the keys noted above are in the same position as a US keyboard.

Ctrl-Z also does not work, and the Z key is in the same position as a US keyboard.

Hello! Thank you for letting me know about this; I believe the issue you're having is indeed to do with the same keyboard layout limitation.

When I switched my layout to French (AZERTY), the keys in MasterPlan still work using the keyboard's original layout, however I, too, had the same issues that you were running into.

I believe the core problem is still with the keyboard layout, and will have to see what I can do to resolve this in the short term.

Hello, again~ I've investigated this some more, and it seems that it's a bug with the underlying library that MasterPlan uses indirectly for windowing and input, GLFW. It seems that the function keys / non-printable keys (Control, Escape, Space, etc) don't work properly if you switch to a secondary keyboard layout. It doesn't seem like it happens if you're on the primary layout, regardless of what layout it might be?

I'm somewhat perplexed as to how / why this is the case, but I am able to reproduce it on my side if I start MasterPlan while using a secondary layout, so at least we know why it's happening.

Ok, I'll see if I can set my usual layout as the primary. Thanks for the workaround.
