adding (male) gender to female only folders?

sorry if this has been answered before, but if i add a "male" file (and fill it with my own art pack) to a female only folder like for example the demon race where it only has one gender (female) will male demons start spawning in game like any other race with two genders or do i have to tinker with the game's code a bit?

The sex of randomly generated persons is determined by the random chances in the game settings menu and nothing else.

For information about image tagging: https://itch.io/t/838806/core-tag-size-rules

ty so much for replying

1) so from what i understood it doesn't matter if there is a "male" portrait file for one of the races or not, the game will always generate either a male\female\futa character randomly for all races as long as i tip the scale in the settings menu (again even for races that have only portrait\body files for males but none for females or futas ) , correct?

2) i looked up the file you mentioned in the "tag and size rules" post called races.gd and realized that humans don't have "white" in the possible hair colors, but i have been making body\portrait art of white haired humans and ofc they're named "white SkinD" for example so does that mean the game will never generate a white haired human that utilizes that art unless i tinker with the races.gd file and add "white" to the "haircolor = [.....  ]" line?

sorry if im asking too many questions >_<

For both, the vanilla game does not care what images you have or do not have, nor does it care about any of the extra tags you add to them. It will pick a random image which has the race in it's file path, including file name, it won't even attempt to make sure the sex matches.

The improved random portraits mod will attempt to use images that are tagged similar to the person, at least for the attributes that it tracks.

Yes, if you add white to the haircolor array for humans, then you will get humans with white hair. Though you should be aware that humans are used as a template for many other races, so those races will also get white hair as well.

thanks alot i get it now, my confusion probably was because im already using improved random portraits mod and all art packs for it have entire races missing a gender, like the darkElf/drow race for example which only has a male folder but no female/futa so i thought this would cause female drows to never spawn lol, thanks again!
