I don't want to make extra work for you and I liked that you can mash buttons to escape while paused, but...
While paused you still can wash the buttons when the character is knocked on the ground (Not sure if somebody mentioned it).
It's in the 1.0.5 version.
And you fix bugs at sonic speed right now. Just WOW. Respect!
I just released a new build with a different bug fix, so I'm not going to upload a new one immediately cause the bug you mention is not that impactful. Thanks for reporting! And if you like helping me out by posting bugs like this, all the better! I will manage my workload, so keep the feedback coming

Compared to other games I played recently, yours is like a finished product (Well. You developed it for couple of years).
