I'm really glad you're excited for it! We're a very small group using a niche engine and sometimes computers block the game on Steam. It doesn't tend to happen with Itch, though. If you can allow greater access for downloading files or temporarily turn off any virus scanners you have, the download may finally go through. Let us know if you're still having trouble!

It's gone not because the game file deleted itself, but because your virus scanner removed it from your computer because it doesn't trust the engine. If you can look around your computer and find out the name of your virus blocker, you can use the name to search online how to turn it off/make it stop suspecting certain files ^^.
