Why? Hmm.. that's an interesting question. There are a few reasons actually... For one, when I started working on the project, I wasn't sure if I wanted to write a 90s nostalgia type game, or a fantasy RPG. I decided that it would be a hodgepodge of both, rather than picking one, or trying to do two separate games at the same time. Also, it does fit in nicely with the whole nostalgia theme I have going on, it's not just a game, it's an old game. It makes me remember the old days of playing games with no mini-maps, trying to navigate a maze, drafting it out on grid paper, etc. But yeah, in short, that's why.
