From my experience, the best for both you and players (and patrons too, or anyone else who donates for the game in any way) would be: 1 update per month consisting of a few exclusive betas, a pre-release and, by the end of said month or the first few days of the next one, the public release. It would be the best workflow considering that you know when to slow down from time to time to avoid burnouts which lead to creativity blocks.

There's also the option of making a weekly dev update, or just make these at random intervals when you feel it's needed to let people know how the next update is shaping up, to warn of any problems with your hardware/software which may delay said update, etc.

I didn't play the game yet, I just downloaded it and I'll make sure to talk about it as soon as I'm done.

Thanks for the advice. We'll see how it goes. I am planning on releasing 1-2 updates per month. I want enough content in the game to justify downloading the a new version. Oh, thanks for playing. I hope you enjoy the game as much as I enjoyed making it.
