Really fun gameplay concept with a premise/framing that made me chuckle. Manual control of the "lens" while moving was a great dexterity challenge. From a design standpoint, I found myself feeling like the punishments became somewhat arbitrary. 

One way around this might be to start leaving "hints" for the player to begin to try and guess what the obscured hazards might be... Which will give you something else to subvert down the line as well.

Overall, nice! And a haunting walk cycle.

Thanks for the feedback! Adding hints would be a good idea. I can think of at least one instance where death is completely unfair
