Was a really good game and really fun to play! The setting was great, and loved how the forest background mattered for the game as you go outside towards the end. The atmosphere was great; with the spooky theme in the background and the darkness and spooky mood of the house really complimented each other well and made it extra scary.
The scares were really good too; especially the one where you are exiting the room and then the camera turns 180 to show the creature that was there. I absolutely loved how the text told the player that something might be behind them and then there wasn't at first, and then a jump scare right after. This was executed really well and I thought was a superb scare and something that turned up the climax just for that part.
Another really good part was that there were a variety of monster that wee scaring the player' most horror games have an issue of not being scary because once the monster is shown, the scariness goes away. But you have gone around that by making multiple monsters albeit with similar jump scares. I think that was done really well as well. Especially the second on which scares the player on the chair; it was photo shopped really well.
Another good touch was when the text goes really red and large and tells the player to sleep, my only suggestion is that the speed of the text be reduced a little bit as I was only able to read it while editing the game play. But other than that, it was a great touch!
Aside from those the cinematography was done really well, and how you suggested that something might come from the cupboard at the beginning and at the end, there was a scare at the cupboard; it was a full circle and honestly thought it completed the game and made it stand out more and that much better than a lot of other games.
My only suggestions would be to add more noises and more small scares or spooky parts. The main flaw with the game I found is that it has a great environment, and due to that, players would want to explore. This slows down the pace of the game and makes it less scary than it is. Maybe add spooky humanoid shadows or something or creepy sounds that go off now and then, that would elevate the scariness of the game a lot more and make it more enthralling and engrossing. Or maybe making the map smaller might help as it would streamline the player into only going to particular areas that have scares or spooks in them.
Other than that, my other suggestion would be to make more of a story which the player could divulge into. Maybe talk about things like why there are monster, or why the player is having nightmares, or who are the nightmares, etc. An interesting story would make the game that much better!
And yeah, it was a great game and can't wait for more and good luck for the future!
