Leaving the rifle lying across the bottom of the screen as the frame for the whole shot is a neat way to put you behind the gun without a HUD, and the crosshair moving over that jungle backdrop reads clearly even with the busy pixel art. The wrecked bus half-buried in the green sells the setting in one glance.
