Thanks!

I initially selected the supported languages based on the text-to-speech system I was testing during the early stages of development.

The project currently uses Supertonic-3 for text-to-speech, which doesn't seem to officially support Brazilian Portuguese specifically (although it may support European Portuguese).

I should be able to add more languages with the help of the AI that assisted me in developing the game (there's actually an entire system that corrects the text on the fly before it's read aloud by the text-to-speech engine, because even with languages officially supported by Supertonic-3, there are sometimes a few quirks...)

I imagine I could also try using the European Portuguese voice for both European and Brazilian Portuguese. However, I'm not sure how accurate or natural the pronunciation would be...

As a French person, I suspect it might sound a little odd, especially if the difference between Brazilian and European Portuguese is comparable to the difference between Quebec French and the French spoken in Europe...

I'll try to add more languages in the next update (a future v1.0.3), and I'd be more than happy to receive feedback on them, whether it's about the translations or the text-to-speech pronunciation, so I can fix any issues! :)

Your suspicion is correct! Brazilian and European Portuguese can sound pretty different, and we also have differences in vocabulary and expressions, even though we can (usually) understand each other haha.

I'd be happy to help test the PT-BR version when it's available! I can take a look at the translations and give you feedback on the pronunciation as well.

Feel free to reach out if you need an extra pair of eyes (or ears 😂) when the future v1.0.3 update comes out!
