Not bad at all, but progression grinds to a halt after cairn 4.
A few suggestions:
-
Rebalance gains - Increase the coins earned per stone at higher tiers. Roughly double the current gains at max level, scaling backwards so the first 2-3 levels are identical to their current gains.
-
Cairn Multiplier - Each cairn’s earnings are multiplied by a factor based on the total number of cairns you have reached the ribbon on. Maybe 1.25^X where X is the number of cairns you have reached the ribbon?
-
Special Hikers - New upgrade that adds a %-based chance for a hiker to be a wealthy person, granting 5x earnings as they pass each cairn.
-
Height Multiplier - The higher the stack, the bigger the bonus. Something like an extra 5~10% per stone would be fine. Maybe less? Experiment if you choose to give this a go.
Note: Implementing more than one of the above could lead to ridiculously fast gains and make the game terrible for being too fast/easy. Pay attention to the overall balance as you tweak your game, friend!
Another problem I had was being very unhappy with certain stones in the stack. I’d like to have a way to destroy a stone in the stack, for strategy purposes. (Ultimately I started over and just used the long flat stones instead, which was fine but slowed progression down even further… though not by enough to warrant complaint)
I think that’s it based on my current experience.
With all stacks maxed out… during the time I typed this entire comment I only earned 2.4m gold… Yeesh. Good thing I already bought all the upgrades that matter to me lol.
