i love me some jazzy tunes, but i think the vocals may have been a little too unclear for me to enjoy the song.
I feel like you could have done some EQ and comp!
But otherwise a great song!

you're so right, I was just very sick for the last week or so, it was really difficult to find the energy to work on this, but I literally woke up yesterday and was like ugh I guess I should probably try to submit SOMETHING even though I really wanted to bail/was kind of embarrassed
not proud of the quality of the work but I'm getting some exposure therapy in at least. I'd appreciate tips if you have any :)
Oh dear! I do hope you are recovering well and please do not be embarrassed by your own submission / works! I promise it's really good, it's just the mixing that you have to work on.
Personally, I love to play with the higher frequencies, lowering the bass or increasing it or decreasing the mids.
But for this type of voices, just my own artistic take, I would increase the high frequencies more or make it sound a little more buzzier. Like for example, you can play around with breathiness, gender factor and a lot of other stuff too!
